The Waters Library
The unique collection of original black and
white negatives, color slides, transparencies, prints, original signed photographs, art work and 16mm
films is the collection of George
L.Waters (my Grandfather) George L. Waters, jr. (my
Father), that I, Tim Waters have
archived.
My Grandfathers collection of mostly black and white negatives is from the 1900-1950's and covers imagery from Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New York and California. Most of the work is of the National Parks, Yellowstone, Tetons, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, and the Sawtooth Mountains.
The collection comprises of approximately 5,000
unique images. There is also original 16mm black and white film of historic
events from this era. One such film is the "Flight of the
Bluebird"which is the documentation of Sir Malcolm Campbell's historic record breaking
of the 300 mph barrier on the Bonneville Salt flats in Utah, Sept 3, 1935.
My Fathers collection of Black and White negatives, original fine art prints, color slides and 16mm films span from the early 1920's- 1988. The majority of the Black and white images that fit the Waters Library model are of the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1930's.
The color slides and transparencies are
from a variety of locations. England,
New York, Utah, Wyoming, California. Much of the color is from George Waters
professional work in conjuction with Eastman Kodak and his own company.
The black & white and color collection has over 10,000 unique images. One of the 16mm Color films is the documentation of the Royal Family, King George VI and Queen Mum, historic trip to North Americain June and July of 1939. Also is a color film of the TM's at Windsor Castle in April of 1939 and rare color footage of David Lloyd George, former Prime Minister of the UK, at his home in Sussex, in April of 1939.
